We believe that healthy early development lays the foundation for a child’s success in school and in life. As a result, we take a holistic approach to every child’s well-being by providing services and supports that enable our children and families to lead healthy, stable lives.
In response to the pandemic, we launched the Clayton Cares initiative to provide food to families. Our food distribution effort has evolved into the Clayton Cares Market, a cost-free market opened in October 2021.
The Market is a dedicated space on campus where Clayton families and staff can come once a week to select nutritious foods and household essentials. Shoppers can fill two bags, one with food and the other with hygiene/cleaning items, including:
- Fresh vegetables and fruit
- Fresh dairy
- Frozen chicken, turkey, and fish
- Rice, beans, pasta, and cereal
- Cleaning supplies
- Diapers and wipes
- Personal care items
- School supplies, including books and backpacks
The Market has provided much needed stress relief to families who are regularly making tradeoffs between important basic needs, such as housing or medical bills, and purchasing nutritionally adequate foods.
Clayton is proud to partner with these organizations who share our passion for providing healthy food for children and families in our community.
