Are you implementing free play in your classroom? Many would answer "yes" but did you know there could be things you are unintentionally doing in the classroom that would classify children's play as structured play? This training is designed to enhance early childhood professionals’ knowledge of free play from the 3rd editions of the Environment Rating Scales. Participants will gain an overall understanding of free play for each age group in early childhood care and learning settings, how to set up their environment to allow children to gain the greatest benefits of free play, and how to support their free play. Participants will also leave with action steps toward creating a high-quality early childhood care and learning environment that incorporates free play.
