Effective Mindfulness Building Responsive and Confident Educators (EMBRACE™) is a curriculum-based mindfulness program that provides early childhood educators monthly training and weekly coaching. EMBRACE™ is not only a mindfulness program but a way of enveloping participants in a system of support, much like an actual embrace would do. While other mindfulness programs exist for teachers working with older children, EMBRACE™ was specifically designed for educators in early childhood to address the stressors so common in our field with the hope of some far-reaching impacts. We know the benefits don’t just end with educators. When educators are well and systems are functioning properly, we also see positive outcomes for children and families.
The foundation of EMBRACE™ includes five, evidence-based core mindfulness practices:
Each month a new training module is introduced:
Participants also receive an individual toolkit filled with self-care items as well as a classroom kit that includes mindfulness tools teachers can use with children, such as the breathing ball and our mindfulness card deck.
“EMBRACE™ has been a life changing experience for me! The curriculum, items sent to us, monthly group sessions, and most of all my one on one weekly coaching sessions with Melissa helped me grow and change both personally and professionally! The changes I experienced are lasting changes because the program isn’t just a one off training. I truly believe EMBRACE™ is a program that every educator would benefit from and I wish I had this class available at the beginning of my career!" - EMBRACE™ Coachee
"This was the best Clayton Early Learning class I have had. The instructors are outstanding teachers and I appreciated the "free" class but would gladly pay for another class from these two experts!" - Training Participant
"Thanks to this tool I am able to see the changes we need to adapt in order to have the center run smoother and support our families, staff and administrative team. Thank you." - Program Administration Scale (PAS) Assessment Participant
